Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests

The US Forest Service is currently in the process of revising the management plan for the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests. This plan, as always, has broad implications for the access and use of the lands for citizens, businesses etc. One aspect of particular interest to Rock, Gem and Mineral collectors is the opportunity for and regulation of rock/mineral collecting on these lands. Currently, the USFS is drafting the plan and has invited comment on the draft plan.
